The Avid Cruiser’s Video Services

Our Videos Have More Than 2 Million Views & Counting

Hi, I’m Ralph Grizzle, the Avid Cruiser, and I produce video to bring more exposure to your cruise product.

For ports, we produce port operations videos that you can use to inform cruise lines about the technical aspects of your ports.

For destinations, we produce videos that highlight your destination and the shore excursions offered, designed to educate consumers, travel agents and cruise line itinerary planners.

For cruise lines, we produce ship reviews and insightful videos that show how your product is differentiated from the competition.

We produce the videos in all of the formats you need, from web or television, and you get additional distribution on avidcruiser.com, one of the largest cruise web sites in the world, reaching an international mix of consumers, cruise sellers and cruise lines.

Thanks for watching. I hope to hear from you soon. You’ll find lots of sample videos and more details on this page, including the following video, embedded on Seabourn’s Facebook page, a clever way to use the videos that we produce.

travelchannel
We have produced a lot of video — and people are watching and engaging. We now have more than 2 million views on our videos — and counting. And we have a few fans, like Brian, who tweeted, much to our surprise, that The Travel Channel should give us a show. We’d love that! Brian knows what we know: We produce great destination content that will inspire and engage your clients and/or guests, and prompt them to take action. What action? To book a cruise so that they can visit some of the places that we’ve featured on their dream lists, or book a shore excursion because they saw us do it of course! Get us before The Travel Channel does!

Our Seabourn Project

We produce destination videos for Seabourn. Those videos have been rolled out on Seabourn’s Facebook page and other social media channels as well as on Seabourn’s ships. The videos have been performing exceptionally well on Facebook. One example is below.

Our Seabourn Branding Project

Seabourn & The Avid Cruiser
Seabourn banner ad campaign featuring “a travel legend.”

Seabourn liked our videos so much that the luxury cruise company did two things that surprised us: The company asked us to produce a branding video, and Seabourn also produced a banner ad featuring “travel legend Ralph Grizzle” and our video.

Silversea, Antarctica

One of our most successful videos (don’t be fooled by the Youtube stats — the video was produced as a podcast with more than 10,000 downloads) featured Antarctica on Silversea. We’ve done other work for the company, including a highly successful video, Luxury Cruises: What Silversea Does Differently.

Benefits of working with us

  • We include at no additional cost music for the videos from the industry’s leader in licensed production music, Firstcom.
  • We include audio enhancements by a dedicated audio editor. Most video production companies do not take this extra step, using only the existing audio recorded as is.
  • Distribution and promotion on avidcruiser.com and its affiliated sites.
  • We understand the industry and your goals, meaning that we’re super easy to work with.

One Of Our Personal Faves: TV Style

Broadcast Quality Content

Our videos are designed for broadcast on television — or your stateroom and in-suite televisions. We film in 1080p full HD broadcast quality. Plus, we create separate, shorter, versions of our feature-length videos for use on your web sites. Our goal is to get as many eyes as possible of your video.

  • We deliver 1080p full HD
  • Our show runs about 10 minutes
  • We produce a second, shorter video for your web site
  • Our music is licensed for broadcast

Broadcast Approved Music

We spend a small fortune each year licensing world class film production music via Firstcom.com, the premiere Hollywood source for high end commercial & feature film music. We even pay extra so that the music we select for your video is approved to show via your in-stateroom televisions & social media platforms.

Our music selections not only drive the emotion in the already-compelling video we produce but also allay any worries you may have about using music that violates copyright laws.

Meet The Team

Our cruise line clients appreciate that our team is small, nimble and unintrusive. After all, your guests don’t want to be disturbed when they are on their vacations. Having filmed for years on small, luxury ships, we know how important it is to be discreet, and we also know how to avoid filming guests so that we don’t have to obtain piles of releases. Watch our videos, and you’d think that we had a much larger team. Not so. It’s just the two of us … producing the work of many.

RALPH GRIZZLE Host / Producer

Ralph Grizzle (aka, The Avid Cruiser) began his journalistic career at the age of 32, following the conclusion of his “sabbatical decade.” From 1980 through 1990, he bicycled across America, pedaled through Europe and island-hopped the South Pacific. After backpacking through Bali, busing through Java, hopping a boat to Singapore and crossing Malaysia to Thailand, he flew into Burma, tramped to Dhaka and endured a 32-hour train ride from calamitous Calcutta to bustling Bombay. From there, he hopped a plane for Greece and traveled to Europe before returning home, where he settled, quite naturally, into a career of travel writing.
