The Best Wave Season Deals For 2021

If you’re anything like us, you have been eager to get back on a cruise ship since March 2020. You might already have sailings lined up for 2021 and 2022, but for those of you who have been dreaming of booking a cruise once the pandemic is over with – the time to do so is now.

For years now, cruise companies have offered itineraries at discounted prices during wave season (typically running from January through March). This year’s wave season is a great time to book voyage, be it in 2021 or beyond. With wave season in full force, there’s no better time to turn your aspirational voyages and daydreams into reality.

Let’s take a look at the wave season deals you should take advantage of in 2021.

Azamara will offer guests booking before March 31, 2021, 40 percent off select sailings between March 2021 and May 13, 2022. The company will also offer complimentary WiFi for guests staying in Oceanview staterooms or higher.

Sailings that can be booked with the 2021 WAVE offer include the Iberia Intensive Voyage — offering the chance to travel Spain and Portugal, permitting an overnight in Sevilla that comes with excursions such as a Flamenco show and trip to nearby Jerez de la Frontera to taste the area’s sherry wines; Norway Intensive & Svalbard Voyage — which includes eight late nights and excursions such as hiking along the resident fjords and a crabbing expedition out in the wild; and the Australia/New Zealand Voyage — allowing for three late nights, one overnight, and a variety of programming that includes whale watching and touring the legendary Marlborough wine region.

Holland America Line (HAL) offers guests the chance to see the ocean with its 2021 wave season incentive, which runs through February 28, 2021. As part of its View & Verandah offer, guests can book an ocean-view stateroom for the price of an interior stateroom, and a verandah stateroom for the price of an ocean-view stateroom.

Travelers will also receive a Signature Beverage Package and a complimentary dining experience in one of two of the company’s specialty restaurants, 10 percent off all shore excursions, 50 percent reduced deposits and free or reduced fares for children.

Oceania’s Ultimate Sale gives guests up to eight free shore excursions, a free beverage package, and up to US$800 shipboard credit per stateroom. This offer is combined with Oceania’s OLife Choice package, which includes roundtrip airfare and free internet. Oceania is also offering 2-for-1 cruise fares on select 2022 voyages. Europe voyages also feature a limited time US$149 Premium Economy Air Upgrade

The promotion runs through March 31, 2021.

Princess Cruises is currently having its Best Sale Ever, which includes a value of at least US$700 per guest (based on a 7-day cruise).

All cruises booked by March 2, 2021 will include a premier beverage package, WiFi, gratuities, a speciality dining experience, and a stateroom location upgrade. Note: The stateroom location upgrade is only eligible in like to like stateroom types.

Regent Seven Seas

Though the company’s wave season deals might not be as robust as some of the others on this list, Regent is offering a pretty substantial deal for guests booking by February 28, 2021. Those looking to sail with Regent are eligible to receive a free two-category suite upgrade on any voyage, plus 50 percent reduced deposits.

The line also has additional incentives such as free business class air in all suite categories and 2-for-1 fares on select itineraries.

Scenic is offering savings of up to 20 percent on select 2022-23 voyages when booked and paid in full 12 months before departure. The company will also include a complimentary Deposit Protection Plan.

Guests looking to cruise in 2021 can still receive Earlybird savings of up to 10 percent on some sailings. Added are free premium economy airfare or US$1,800 per guest savings on Antarctica sailings; US$295 economy air on explorations of Central America; and US$695 economy flights or US$500 per guest savings on itineraries that take in the Mediterranean or the Arctic.

Seabourn’s 2021 Signature Savings Event allows guests a variety of benefits including shipboard credits, internet packages, and suite upgrades. 

Benefits may include the following:

  • Veranda for Ocean View Suite upgrades
  • Up to three category Veranda Suite upgrades
  • Up to US$1,000 shipboard credit per suite
  • Up to 900-minute internet Package per guest
  • 50 percent Reduced Deposit
  • PLUS: Book a Penthouse or Premium Suite to receive up to US$2,000 shipboard credit per suite and an Unlimited Internet Package per suite.

The savings event may also be combined with other promotions, such as Seabourn’s Early Bonus Savings promotion, which offers an additional 10 percent savings for guests who pay their booking in full by February 1, 2021.
