She is a gorgeous ship, like a work of art, inside and out, engineered in Germany, constructed in France.
Hapag-Lloyd’s Europa 2 is where German ingenuity meets the French flair for style. She is spacious (boasting the highest space ratio in the cruise industry) and expensive (she commands among the highest per diems in the industry) and worth the experience for those who can afford it. You’ll read why in my forthcoming review, which will be posted this coming weekend.
In the meantime, so that you can get a feel for what it’s like to be on board this lovely vessel, I’ve put together five photo slideshows with extended captions that relate an experience that is almost as good as being there — but not quite ; )
The slideshow should work well on your mobile devices (provided that you have sufficient bandwidth), so just swipe a photo to advance to the next one. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Please contact me if you have trouble. I’ve also provided links to the photo sets on Flickr should the technology fail you — and ultimately, me.
You can do me a favor if you are feeling charitable. I am curious to know what you think of the slideshows. Do they work on your device — mobile, tablet or desktop? Are they effective as story-telling tools?
I want to know so that I can improve the way I communicate with you. My goal is to help you, and others like you, make informed cruise vacation decisions, and I believe that the idea of a trip begins, by and large, as a visual aspiration — with a photo that inspires you to want to be in that place or to be part of an experience revealed to you in imagery that evokes a powerful emotion.
I hope a few of these photos achieve that, and if nothing else, that they take you away for the few minutes that you spend looking at them.
