We are midway into an incredible journey on Silver Spirit from Piraeus (Athens), Greece to Venice, Italy.
Today, we visited Corfu, Greece, where we trekked to the top of the Old Fortress for magnificent views of the town, Silver Spirit in the distance and the mountainous coast of Albania. Check out the photos here.
Yesterday, one of the best tour guides we’ve ever had the pleasure of touring with, showed us Ancient Olympia, birthplace of the Olympics.
We enjoyed a spectacular evening doing something that few in life have the opportunity to do when we sat for an Evening Concert at Ephesus this past Thursday.
With five days still ahead, it is hard to believe that the best may be yet to come.
Monday morning (that’s today for us), we’ll be up early to snap photographs of Europe’s most southerly fjord and one of the most beautiful transits I’ve ever sailed, Kotor Bay, in Montenegro.
We drop anchor in Dubrovnik a day later, and visit Hvar the next day, where we’ll travel off-the-beaten path on an off-road shore excursion offered by Silversea.
On Thursday, we’ll sail past St. Mark’s Square to dock in Venice, where we’ll overnight before disembarking on Friday.
All of this, plus the pleasures of Silver Spirit . . . stay tuned!
