Best Vienna Hotel: Ritz-Carlton Vienna

After a 12-hour delay getting to Vienna due to snow that closed the airport, I settled in a Junior Suite at the new Ritz-Carlton Vienna, which opened this past August. I took advantage of winter rates that gave me three nights for the price of two and an 85 euro food and beverage credit.

The location was perfect for seeing all of the sights inside and outside the famous Ring. All that I wanted to visit was within walking distance or a short tram ride away.

The hotel itself was lovely, and the service, extraordinary. For an unbelievable story about service at the Ritz-Carlton, see In Vienna: A Tale Of Two Hotels.

In addition to the Club on the seventh floor, Ritz-Carlton Vienna also features a beautiful lobby lounge, where Austria’s best hot chocolate is served. See Inside Ritz-Carlton Vienna: Europe’s Best Hot Chocolate. © 2013 Ralph Grizzle
