Silver Cloud Owner’s Suite Review, Plus Before & After Photos Following The Renovation

Situated midship on deck 7, the 587-square-foot Owner’s Suite (734) features a large living room with a work desk, separate dining area, bedroom, walk-in closet, extended veranda, and a bath and a half. © 2012 Ralph Grizzle

I’m fortunate and extremely grateful to be writing this story while in the Owner’s Suite on Silver Cloud. Such a spacious and refined suite is not often where you’ll find travel writers, but it was available and offered when I boarded, and it’s been my home for the past eight days.

As you might expect, I’ve gotten to know this space quite well, and in this post, I hope to pass on some of that knowledge. If you have questions, I encourage you to ask them in the comments section below. That way, everyone can benefit. But of course, you can always email me by clicking here.

If you’ve sailed Silver Cloud before, you’ll find her much changed following a major renovation that has just been completed. In fact, a few contractors are on board this sailing making final tweaks. The renovation touched nearly everything in the ultra-luxury vessel’s interior. I talked about some of those change in a previous post, Silver Cloud Gets A Makeover: What’s New? We Show You In Photos Live From The Atlantic Ocean.

If you’ve never sailed Silver Cloud, you’ll find her to be an intimate-sized ultra-luxury vessel, carrying only 296 guests. Following the renovation, she evokes a contemporary classic atmosphere with a color scheme that is soothing and attractive. Perhaps nowhere is this more apparent than in the Owner’s Suite.

I’ve broken my review of the Owner’s Suite into five sections, which you’ll find below, as well as a Super-Sized Flickr slideshow. If you choose to view that, be sure to view full screen and turn on the captions.

Ready for the tour of the Owner’s Suite? Let’s go.

Vista Suites on Silver Cloud typically are situated on deck four, but Vista Suite 736 adjoins the Owner’s Suite, 734. For those needing a little more room, 827 square feet, the Owner’s Suite/Vista Suite combination could be a good solution. Read more and see additional photos of Vista Suite 736.

You son of a gun! Seriously, Ralph, among all travel writers out there, YOU certainly deserve this kind of treatment. We’ve been following your current transatlantic voyage with Silversea fantasies of our own for next year.

theavidcruiser says:

What a nice thing to say Ann. In that case, I am going to kick my feet up and relax! Transatlantic? One of the best cruise experiences. We arrived in St. John’s just a few hours ago. Many were longing to touch land. Another six days at sea would have been just fine with me!
