Yesterday’s excursion while Silver Cloud was docked in Roseau, Dominica, was a fun one. In fact, four in our group were repeaters. They had done the River Tubing adventure on other Silversea calls here. And once I did it myself, I could see why.
We drove about 30 minutes to the banks of one of Dominica’s 365 rivers, suited up in life jackets and helmets, then sat on big yellow tire-shaped tubes, grabbed the handles and away we went downriver. To keep us on course, lots of fit-looking guys were standing at various points in the river. It was an exhilarating experience, with some of the rapids dropping several feet. Still, the tubes managed well for the near one-hour descent that included a couple of breaks on the river banks.
