In yesterday’s post, we discussed how luxury equals choice on Silversea Cruises. Today, as Silver Whisper makes her way toward Bordeaux, we’ll focus our discussion on the choices available in personalizing your suite experience. After all, your suite will be your home for the duration of your cruise, so why not make it just the way you want it?
First, you have a choice of welcome bubblies. Choose from a traditional Champagne, such as Heidsieck & Co. Monopole. Or go for a bottle of Prosecco, which is the Italian version of champagne. Silversea management thought it would be appropriate to offer guests the option of choosing a Prosecco such as Bianca Vigna, which complements Silversea’s Italian heritage. The luxury cruise company was founded by, and is still operated by, an Italian family.
You also have a choice of how you want to stock your bar. Prefer sparkling Pelligrino over still water? How about a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label for late afternoon cocktails? Simply let your butler your preferences. He (or she — yes, I know of at least one female butler in the fleet) will replenish as needed. Wines, champagnes, spirits, speciality coffees, bottled water, juices and soft drinks are complimentary throughout the ship, even in your suite and minibar.
Your butler will show up on embarkation day with a tray featuring three luxury brands of bath amenities: Bvlgari, Ferragamo or hypoallergenic. Feel free to make changes during the week, if you want to experience a different brand.
You can choose a firm or soft mattress, as well as twin or queen-sized beds. The “pillow menu” features nine — or ten — pillow types, depending on how you’re counting. Two are pillow covers: a 300 thread-count cotton cover and a 100 percent silk charmeuse cover. Both have hidden pockets for scent sachets of chamomile or lavender. Along with eight pillow types, you have 10 choices of pillows to personalize your sleep experience.
We’re just getting started. This week, we’ll look at more choices, including dining options, tour options and more as we make our way to Lisbon.
