Beach Barbecue @Jost van Dyke On Silver Explorer

Silver Explorer anchored off Jost van Dyke.

On a gorgeous day in the British Virgin Islands, Silver Explorer anchored off Jost Van Dyke where guests were invited to join a complimentary shore excursion, Jost van Dyke Sail and Snorkel, followed by a barbecue lunch on the beach.

Lunch on the beach, Silversea style. No paper plates or plastic utensils. Lunch was elegant as usual, even down the carved watermelon.

Kudos to the crew for transporting food, beverages, plates, glasses and utensils — serving it in the gracious style that has become a Silversea hallmark.

A refreshing start: chilled watermelon soup. Note that the talented chef even carved the Silversea logo into the funnel of the ship.

Zodiacs ran like taxis, transporting guests between the beach and the ship.
Expedition leaders are young, enthusiastic and knowledgeable ambassadors who breathe life into the Silver Explorer experience.
Loading the zodiacs. The most difficult thing to bring ashore? A 40-pound ice-carving. Naturally, there was no need to return it to the ship.
Heading home on the last zodiac back to the ship before setting sail for another beautiful destination.
