This week, I’m making a long-awaited return to Holland America’s Noordam.
It’s a ship I loved the first time I sailed aboard her a few years back. We’ll be sailing from Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, and after a day at sea we’ll visit Dubrovnik, and take a drive through rural Croatia. From there, it’s on to the Greek Isles of Santorini and Corfu and then on the Athens, where we’ll check out a newly opened attraction at the Acropolis. Then, we dock at Kusadasi, Turkey, where I’ll go looking for some overlooked treasures beyond ancient Ephesus. Finally it’s back to Italy, with a day in Sicily, where Mt. Etna is currently putting on a fresh show. It’s an event-filled itinerary and I want to take full advantage of the amenities and entertainment on Noordam and enjoy its restaurants and spa. But I plan to keep busy, filing regular updates and photos about the experience, so keep checking back. This is sure to be a classic cruise.
