Are you a runner or cyclist? If so, you’ll find plenty of places to stretch your legs in Stockholm. One of my favorite places: the huge park known as Djurgården. The nice thing about Djurgården is that you can get there by tram, bus or by walking, running or cycling along Strandvägen. I ran 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the Grand Hotel along Strandvägen around Djurgården and back. There are also a couple of shorter routes, from 3 kilometers (2 miles) to 6 kilometers (4 miles).
The setting is serene, with rippled golden water that resembles a new container of margarine, beautiful white barked birches, even horses and cows grazing in pastures (and you’re in the middle of a large city!). Get out in nature at Djurgården.
