The Facts – For the uncompromising cruiser, the Elite Marina Tower might be the ideal choice. That’s because the location of this hotel makes it possible to arrive and depart by boat. While enjoying the ten-minute trip to or from the city center, passengers are treated to a variety of Stockholm landmarks. Among them are the Gröna Lund amusement park and Waldemarsudde, both located on the island of Djurgården. Boats depart for the city center every hour, taking ten minutes to arrive in downtown Stockholm (at Nybrokajen).
Of course, for those staying in rooms with a view of the sea, Djurgården with its many attractions are within sight through the window. If you’re staying in one of those rooms, or if you’re in a hurry, you might want to opt for the slightly quicker alternative to get to town: a taxi. Public transport, in the form of buses, are also within easy reach from the Elite Marina Tower. If you prefer to walk, plan on 20 minutes to 30 minutes to reach Gamla Stan.

Cozy Digs – Decorated in natural colors, the elegant rooms come in six categories: Superior, Deluxe, Family Room, Junior Suite, Suite, and Tower Suite. If Superior is your choice, you will have 20 square meters at your disposal (23 if you can do without the sea view). Suites offer approximately three times more space. All rooms feature bathtubs. In total, Elite Hotel Marina Tower features 186 rooms and suites.
As from the end of this summer (2012), guests can have access to a pool, a gym, and a Hamam – or Turkish bath. The Hamam will be operated together with Sturebadet, which is one of Stockholm’s most well-known institutions for baths and SPA treatments.
Final Word – Situated on the border between city and archipelago, the Elite Hotel Marina Tower is a good choice for anyone wishing to enjoy two sides of the Swedish capital: city pulse on the one hand, views of the city and its adjacent islands on the other.
A quality restaurant is located on the premises, offering breakfast (complimentary for guests), lunch and dinner.
