DOURO SPIRIT Ship Review

Overview

Launched in April 2011, Uniworld’s Douro Spirit offers voyages that sail the spectacular Douro River Valley.  A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Douro River Valley runs through Portugal and Spain and includes some of the most spectacular scenery and off-the-beaten path towns in these two historic countries.  Wine and food lovers will delight in the region’s local cuisine and celebrated Port wine.  At 245 feet in length, Douro Spirit will carry 128 passengers to this fantastic region.

Aboard Douro Spirit, guests can choose from four stateroom categories and two suite categories, all of which offer French balconies.

All cabins feature hotel-style beds with fine linens, in addition to a built-in closet, flat-screen TV’, vanity and make-up mirror. Bathrooms are stocked with L’Occitane toiletries, a backlit magnifying mirror, and comfortable waffle bathrobes.

Aboard Douro Spirit, all the popular features of other Uniworld vessels are present here, including a main dining room and lounge, a library, a spa and fitness center, gift shop and elevator.  An expansive sky deck allows for stunning views of the passing scenery.

In addition, complimentary coffee and tea are available throughout the day, and complimentary red and white wine, Port wine, beer, soft drinks, coffee, tea and water are offered during dinner.

Wireless internet access is available in all public areas.
