Built in 2005 and measuring 246 feet in length, Royal Lotus is operated by Switzerland-based Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts for Avalon Waterways and Viking River Cruises.

Sailing the Nile river in Egypt, Royal Lotus offers nine night and eleven night departures, roundtrip Cairo. She boasts 60 staterooms and two suites, and is capable of carrying 124 passengers and 70 crew.

ROYAL LOTUS Staterooms

There are two categories of accommodation aboard Royal Lotus.

  • Measuring approximately 236 square feet, standard staterooms include a full-sized window allowing for continuous views of the ever-changing scenery.  All staterooms feature a mini-bar, full air conditioning, a satellite TV, and a bathroom that includes a hairdryer.
  • Located at the forward end of Deck B are Royal Lotus’ two suites: Karnak and Abydos. They are highlighted identically to the standard staterooms on the deckplan, so look closely.

Inside the fully air-conditioned interior, Royal Lotus offers an a la carte restaurant, a comfortable main lounge with “Theme Nights,” a welcoming reception lobby, a gym, as well as shops in the multi-story atrium.

High atop the ship, River Lotus boasts an expansive sun deck complete with an attractive swimming pool area.

River Cruisers Should Know!

  • There is no elevator aboard passenger elevator aboard Royal Lotus.
  • The ship has five passenger decks.
