The MS Swiss Pearl has been one of Europe’s most beautiful river cruise ships since 1993 and has recently started her new journey on the Rhône and Saône rivers in France. Fully renovated by AmaWaterways in 2006, she can carry 128 guests in 63 staterooms. She is 360 feet long and features some uncommon features for a river cruise ship, like her unique indoor swimming pool.

There are seven different categories of accommodation aboard the Swiss Pearl:
- Starting at 115 square feet is the ship’s unique Single Accommodation. This single stateroom – 131- is located aft on Emerald Deck’s starboard side and features a fixed window. A rarity in the industry, this unique solo accommodation includes all the amenities you might expect, including a TV, mini-bar, a bathroom with shower, and a picture window.
- Triple Accommodations are next up the accommodation ladder. This stateroom located on Emerald Deck offers triple occupancy along with a more spacious size at 180 square feet. Amenities include a TV, mini-bar, safe, and bathroom with shower and hairdryer.
- Category D measures 130 square feet, and is located all the way aft on Emerald Deck. These staterooms boast a TV, mini-bar, safe, and a bathroom with shower and hairdryer.
- Categories A, B, and C are located on Ruby and Emerald decks and measure approximately 140 square feet. They feature all the amenities found in the Category D staterooms.
- Swiss Pearl’s two Junior Suites represent the top accommodation aboard. Located all the way aft on Ruby Deck, these 205 square foot suites feature all the amenities of the Category A, B and C staterooms but with additional space and a more luxurious bathroom.
As with many ships, these suites can sell out quickly, so it can pay to book well in advance.

Aboard Swiss Pearl, guests have access to a number of features, the most unique of which perhaps is the ship’s indoor swimming pool – a rarity for the river cruise industry. The ship also features a dining room featuring regional cuisine, a full bar and lounge, a separate reading area and gift ship, and a fitness and sauna room to recover from those days ashore.
