The boarding process was simple: up a metal gangway, a brief welcome and orientation in the lounge, lunch (more on that later) and into our staterooms. I am in 306, a roomy junior suite with a French Colonial ambience. The fan not only adds a hint of nostalgia but also complements the air conditioning in outside temperatures that are 90-plus.
