David Smith is a professional world travel and commercial photographer, a member of the Editorial Photographers Association and past President of the North Shore Photographic Society.  He is founder of Image by Interface photography services and Interface Images stock photography.  His images are published worldwide and he is represented by stock photo agencies in Europe, US and Australia.  David is a popular keynote speaker and guest lecturer on digital photography and travel for camera clubs, photo conferences, travel organizations, corporate events and cruise ships. He resides in West Vancouver, BC with his wife Anna.

Mastering Your Digital Camera

Remember the days when point and shoot cameras and film cameras were simple to use with very few camera settings? Unfortunately for photographers today’s digital point and shoot cameras have over 100 different camera setting combinations and SLR cameras have over 300. Who wants to read that too complex manual anyway?  Fortunately using just a few camera settings and techniques lets you create impressive images to wow your viewers…..but how?

The complexity of these cameras is so high that most photographers leave them (even high end SLR cameras!) in automatic mode and use them as simple point and shoot cameras to accept boring non-creative images as a fact of today’s complex life…. a dilemma.

Pro travel photographer David Smith has just returned home to Vancouver from lengthy world travel photography assignments and will conduct two identical classes on Mastering Your Digital SLR Camera this month at theSurrey Art Centre (Sunday daytime; Jan.15)   and
West Vancouver’s Ferry Building Gallery (2 evenings; Tues. Jan. 17 & Thurs. Jan 19)
