Our first stop: an overview of Lisbon. © 2012 Ralph Grizzle

We spent a fun and informative morning and afternoon touring Lisbon with Mary Harrison Goudie, who bills herself as a “Tour Designer,” at her website Your Lisbon Guide. Our morning started off with a rollicking ride along the narrow streets of Lisbon in pursuit of trams. Check out the video.

Our next stop was at “Pastelaria Aloma” in Campo de Ourique, which holds the distinction of making Lisbon’s best Pastel de Nata (an egg tart pastry). We visited a local market, a wine shop, Vista Alegre’s flagship store with its beautiful Portuguese ceramics, had a wonderful lunch with Portuguese wines at Cantinho do Avillez and ended our day marveling at the Church of Sao Roque. You can see it all in the video that we will post tomorrow. Meantime, enjoy the photos.
