Cruising Carnival Breeze
I was shocked to learn that it has been five years since I cruised on Carnival Cruise Lines. How could that be? Carnival calls itself “The World’s Most Popular Cruise Line®,” and yet somehow I have been absent — for far too long.
I’ll be back on Carnival June 15 when I step aboard the new Carnival Breeze in Barcelona. I am excited to see the strides this company has made to deliver its brand promise — Fun For All. All For Fun.
Look to this space for more about Carnival Cruise Lines and its new Breeze in the coming weeks.
Meantime, tell me, why are you or why are you not a fan of Carnival Cruise Lines?

River Cruise Advisor To Be Revamped
Avid Cruiser isn’t only about ocean cruises. We have a sister site dedicated to river cruises. In the coming weeks, River Cruise Advisor will be getting an all-new facelift, but the content stays the same, which is the best available in the river cruise segment (at least that’s what travel agents and our other readers tell us).

Heading To Stockholm? You Need To Read This
We also run the Stockholm Cruise Blog, which includes everything you need to know about cruising to/from Sweden’s capital (keep in mind that I spend a good part of my year in Sweden, so as an American living here, I bring a relevant perspective to cruisers from North America). On the Stockholm Cruise Blog, you will find Hotel Reviews, information about Getting Around, Activities and Attractions, Restaurant Reviews and a lot more.
Cruising The Gota Canal
I am bringing my daughter to Stockholm on June 1, which also happens to be her 17th birthday. Watch this space as I’ll report on our activities, which will be the same activities you may want to consider if you are cruising to or from Stockholm.
On June 6, we depart for what promises to be a memorable trip, across Sweden on a Gota Canal Cruise. We’ll be on an itinerary that has been operating since 1869, cruising on what is reported to be the world’s oldest ship still in regular service. Juno was built 1874. The bunk beds, I am told, are 185 centimeters in length. I am nearly 195. We’ll see how that works out. For those looking to extend their stays in Sweden, the Gota Canal Cruise could be worthy of consideration.
I’ll be writing more about this fascinating journey on Sunday and will begin live coverage next Wednesday, June 6.
Our Writers At Sea
Speaking of canals, Geoff Edwards is transiting the Panama Canal on Crystal Serenity. You’ll find Geoff’s journal here or check out our Crystal Serenity Review.
Our young Canadian, Aaron Saunders, winds up his coverage of Silver Explorer today and heads back home to Vancouver. If you missed his reporting, you can look back at his posts and photos on From The Deck Chair.
We complement our cruise reviews with voyage reports. You’ll find pages after page of our missives from the sea, such as Geoff’s postings from Crystal Serenity or Aaron’s musings from Silver Explorer.
Meantime, recounting his voyage on Avalon Vista, Wallace Immen stops in Lelystad, in the Netherlands, where he reports on an entertaining Dutch Shipyard Adventure.
Avid Cruiser’s Cruise Ship Reviews
Avid Cruiser’s core is cruise ship reviews. We have ship reviews for every major cruise line (and some not so major), and our writers just keep going and going, filing more and more reports from aboard ships.
In June, Wallace sails on Seabourn Sojourn to the North Cape while I cruise Carnival Breeze then head to Crystal Serenity to see how that ship fares for my first time ever on board — and with my 15-year-old son.
