This morning's half-day tour showed us the highlights of Casablanca and the Grand Mosque.
This week and next, I am crossing the Atlantic on Silver Cloud. Before heading across, however, Silver Cloud stops in Morocco and the Canary Islands. Our port of call this morning: Casablanca.
Nope. It's not the original Rick's Cafe in the book "Everyone Comes To Rick's" and made famous in the Hollywood hit "Casablanca." In fact, the blockbuster was filmed in its entirety at a Warner Brothers studio in California. "Play it again, Sam" is a misquotation by the way. The actual line by Ingrid Bergman was, "Play it once, Sam, for old times' sake."
